WSL Replacement Player Guidelines

WSL Shield

  • Replacement players are not allowed unless authorization is granted from the League Commissioners. The conditions under which a replacement player can be arranged are as follows:
    • More than 3 “A” players will be missing, or
    • Less than 8 total skaters will be at the game
  • Failure to follow those procedures will result in a forfeit.
  • The League has a list for replacement goalies.

Sand Bagging!

Jones Rejoins Ducks
CHESTNUT HILL – There was certainly sandbagging going on by the Wissahickon Creek Saturday afternoon but only some of it had to do with the torrential downpours.

Brian Jones rejoined the Ducks after months of speculation that he would not play in the WSL this season. It was the promise of no Sunday games and imported beer that brought him back to the fold.

As for the rest of the rosters, you’ll just have to wait, but most of the Ducks have been reunited as well as many of the winless Bakers.

The Flyers and Quakers names have been retired. Say hello to the Ice Chucks and Kensington Alers.

THE WISSAHICKON SKATING CLUB IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE 4th ANNUAL WSC SPRING LEAGUE

Monday, March 17th thru Saturday, May 24th 2008

Player registration is now open for our 4th annual Spring League, the WSL. All teams will be drafted in order to ensure league-wide parity. For more detailed information on the draft process or any other league information, please contact commissioners Jon Buehler or Bill Melissen in the WSC Proshop.

Level: B (teams will have equal distributions of “A”, “B”, and “C” players)

League Format: 10 drafted teams, 10 League Games + 2 Preseason Games + Memorial Day Tournament (15 minute Periods)

Game Slots: Sunday, Monday & Tuesday nights, Saturday Afternoons

League Fee: $250 (Includes Jersey), Pay by Monday, February 18th & Pay $225

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FRIDAY, MARCH 7TH

Draft: Saturday, March 8th

Summer Open Hockey

When Wissahickon reopens in a month or so there will be several skates to play.

Monday nights, Thursdays at 8:45 and Sunday mornings.
