It really doesn’t matter. If the 8th seed wins there would be the same question. Re-seeding would be too difficult as it would add confusion to the time slots. This way the winner of Mondays games know before hand who and when they play on Tuesday. Also allows for no team having two late games back to back and allows for no two teams to play against each other twice (once in playoff game and once in relegation game if the winner of Mondays game loses on Tuesday). Beleieve me we have thought of everything.
Someone who is wise in the bookmaking trade should calculate odds so we can bet on this shit show. Is anyone an actuary or have an understanding of financial security systems?
The level of alcohol and drug use on some teams(especially some of the favorites) makes handicapping this thing very difficult. For instance I think the Ducks could very easily win the championship or pass out in their locker room before their first game even starts.
